Brunei
,
Hello again,
I just quickly want to share my first impressions of Brunei with you. I haven’t been here long, but nevertheless I think I will be able to “survive” the next five months. Of course I have to get used to everything here (but I guess that’s normal, it doesn’t matter where you go) but at least all the people I met so far are really friendly and try to help you as much as possible. I think it will be a nice experience.
Another thing here is the climate. I already knew what I had to expect and a lot of people also warned me that it will be really hot and humid and they were right. The moment I stepped out of the airport I started sweating and it still didn’t stop
Luckily they do have air condition everywhere inside but in my opinion then it is even worse when you have to go out again and I also think they turn it way to cold. You really start freezing when you are inside. But everybody here told me that I will get used to it. I really hope so, but when I look at Lisa (she is already here for 5 months) I think they are right, because she can even wear long pants and long sleeves and doesn’t sweat at all.The next thing I’m not used to, is that people stare at us because of our skin colour. It’s really amazing how much attention Heidi and I get when we go somewhere. First of all because we are “white” and then also because we are both quite tall and all people here are so small. You really feel like a giant!
Till next time,
Bye x Sabine
